Showit Vs Squarespace | Heather Jones Creative | Showit Website Templates

One of the most common questions I get asked is “Which is better- Showit or Squarespace?”. I'd like to tell you that both of these are great platforms for your website, whether you plan to DIY or hire a designer. However, I do prefer Showit over Squarespace, and I'm going to talk about the 4 main reasons why below.

» Design Freedom

There is no comparison when it comes to design freedom- Showit is the clear winner! With Showit being a drag and drop builder, the sky is the limit when it comes to your website design. There are no restrictions, blocks, or coding needed to design a stunning website with Showit. While both platforms are considered a drag and drop editor, Squarespace still has its limitations. Once you get used to the design freedom that Showit allows, it's hard to even consider another platform!

» Mobile & Desktop Views

Showit also allows for an amazing mobile design. You will be able to design your mobile website right along with your desktop version, and you can toggle elements on and off for each one. Something doesn't look great on mobile? No worries, you can simple turn that layer off for the mobile design. After struggling with mobile websites for years, it was such a nice surprise when I started using Showit and could design it exactly how I wanted to. With Squarespace the mobile site is generated for you, which does not allow for much customization.

» WordPress Blog

Yes, it's true! If you chose to have a blog on your Showit website, you will have a WordPress blog. Since WordPress is still the best blogging platform out there, it's an amazing feature that feeds right into your Showit website design. If you go with the advanced Showit subscription, you can also add plugins to your website through the WordPress dashboard. If you already have a WordPress or Squarespace blog, Showit can migrate the posts over for free. With Squarespace, you must blog on their platform and do not have the option to add any WordPress plugins (although they do offer some extensions).

» Customer Support

Showit customer support offers a live chat option as well as email support. They are a great support team, and are quick to get issues taken care of. I also really like the Facebook Group for Showit Users, which is another great resource for help and support from the huge Showit community! After spending many years dealing with terrible customer service from another hosting company, Showit has been amazing and so supportive with all of my (and my client's) website needs!

So now you know my thoughts on Showit vs Squarespace! I'd love for you to see just how awesome it is to have a website on a platform that is a joy to work with. If you haven't already done so, I invite you to sign up for Showit's free 14-day trial (no credit card required!). I know you' ll love it as much as I do!
