Let's integrate social media with your website so we can enhance your online presence, engage with your audience, and drive traffic to your website. Yes, please! When done correctly, it can lead to increased brand awareness, customer loyalty, and even higher conversion rates. In this blog post, I’ll go over several effective strategies to seamlessly integrate social media into your website.

1. Add Social Media Buttons- In the Right Place!

One of the simplest and most effective ways to integrate social media with your website is by adding social media buttons. These buttons allow visitors to easily share your content on their social media profiles or follow your social media accounts.

I recommend adding these to the footer of your website. (See Example)

By positioning social media icons in the footer, you maintain a clean and focused header area that emphasizes navigation and key messaging. Having the icons at the end of your website pages provides visitors the opportunity to connect with your brand on social platforms after they finish exploring your site. That's the key!

2. Embed Social Media Feeds

Embedding social media feeds on your website is another great way to integrate your social channels. This can provide visitors with a live glimpse of your latest social media activity, and encourage them to follow you and engage with your content.

I usually integrate an Instagram feed on my website and most of my client websites, since this is the platform we use the most. However, I suggest only adding feeds for platforms you are active on.

3. Integrate Social Media Commenting Systems

Integrating social media commenting systems like Facebook Comments or Disqus on your website can enhance engagement and create a more interactive experience for your visitors. These systems allow users to comment on your blog posts or articles using their social media profiles, making it easier for them to participate in discussions without creating a new account. Who else is tired of creating accounts for everything? 🙋‍♀️

This approach not only simplifies the commenting process but also increases the visibility of your content on social media- as users' comments may appear in their friends' news feeds. This can drive more traffic to your site and foster a sense of community among your audience.

4. Enable Social Media Auto-Posting

To make it easier to publish to multiple platforms, consider enabling social media auto-posting. This feature allows you to automatically share your website’s new blog posts, updates, and other content on your social media profiles. By doing this, you ensure that your followers are consistently updated with your latest content, driving traffic back to your site.

Tools like Planoly, Buffer, Hootsuite, and Jetpack for WordPress make it easy to set up auto-posting. This not only saves you time but also helps maintain an active social media presence without the need for manual posting. Win, win!

5. Integrate Social Media Sharing into Your Blog

Ensuring that your blog posts are easily shareable on social media can significantly increase their reach. Adding social sharing buttons to your blog posts allows your readers to share content across multiple platforms with just one click.

You can also use a ‘Pin It' hover button for your images, which will encourage users to add your content to pinterest. (Like the ones in this post!)

6. Showcase Social Proof

Social proof is a powerful tool for building credibility and trust. By showcasing customer reviews, testimonials, and social media mentions on your website, you can demonstrate the positive experiences of your existing customers.

Consider adding a dedicated testimonials area that appears on multiple pages or incorporating reviews and ratings on sales pages. Highlighting social media mentions and user-generated content can further enhance your brand’s reputation and encourage potential customers to take action. Which is what we all want, right?

Not sure how to display reviews? Here are a few ways:

Conclusion

Integrating social media with your website is a strategy that can significantly enhance your online presence and drive business growth. By doing these things, you can create a seamless and engaging experience for your audience.

When your website and social media channels work together harmoniously, you'll see increased traffic, engagement, and conversions. You've got this!
