Is it possible to have a blog with a Showit website? How much does it cost for a Showit blog? Can I move my old blog over to Showit?
These are common questions surrounding my favorite website builder, Showit (of course!), and today I'm here to answer all of your burning blog-related questions!
Is it possible to have a blog with a Showit website?
Why, yes, you sure can! You can have a WordPress blog with a Showit website, and it's really the perfect platform for blogging. Most of the other website builders out there have their own blogging platform, but being able to have a WordPress blog along with your Showit website is great. We all know that WordPress is hands down the best blogging platform out there. However I moved to Showit to have more control over all of the non-blog pages on websites. Being able to fuse the two together to have powerful blog functionality + design freedom is the BEST. If you're still not sure whether you're ready to DIY a Showit website or hire a designer to set everything up for you, this blog post can help you decide.
How much does it cost for a Showit blog?
If you're going to have a blog added on to your Showit website, you will have two options for pricing: $24 or $34 a month / $288 or $408 annually (this of course includes your Showit website hosting as well). If you are just starting out with a new blog, then the lower tier would be fine. However, if you are migrating an existing blog with 50+
posts, you will want to choose the $34 plan. You can compare both plans here. I personally use and recommend the higher plan, b/c it allows me to add plugins to WordPress (and I do have a few favorites ;)
Can I move my old blog over to Showit?
Yes! If you have a WordPress or Squarespace blog, the Showit team can move it over to your new website for free. If you've ever tried to migrate a blog, you know how much of a headache it can be- so having Showit do it for you is the icing on the cake!
Do I need to add each blog post to my Showit website after publishing?
Nope! The wonderful thing about using Showit + WordPress is that once you hit publish on a new post in WordPress, it will automatically feed into your Showit website. Incredible, right? You'll have a blog page template in Showit, and this is where your blog posts will populate on your live website.
I hope that answers your questions about Showit + Blogging. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any other questions!
