I may not be Taylor Swift, but I’ve been gone through a LOT of Eras in the past 15 years as a Web Designer. Here are a few that I can’t seem to ‘Shake Off’:

The ‘Viva la Violette' Era

In 2008, I started my business under the name ‘Viva la Violette’. My love for the color purple and my video game handle ‘Violet’ inspired my new business name. If you’ve been in my world since this era, then OMG you are awesome!

The Garage / Etsy Era

I started working from my garage 24/7. Before I had a website of my own, I had an Etsy shop where I sold wedding invitations and Blog Designs (for just $100!). We all have to start somewhere, right?

The WordPress Era

I started designing websites on WordPress, and became a recommended Genesis designer. I also sold Genesis ‘themes’ during this time for $35 each.

The “I'll Design For Anyone” Era

Oof. This era was hard. I was trying to find my style and niche. I phased out the invitations, and I never said no to a website project. As a result- some of my clients were not a good fit.

The Custom Design Era

I was offering website templates, à la carte packages, and everything else under the sun- but I found success with my Custom Website Design package. I tapped into my feminine design style and started attracting women entrepreneurs.

The Showit Era

After coding in WordPress for almost 10 years, I was introduced to Showit. It was love at first click! I transitioned from being a WordPress / Genesis Designer to a Showit Design Partner. I also started selling templates in the Showit marketplace and strictly using Showit for my client projects. I changed my business name to Heather Jones Creative.

The VIP Day Era

While I still thrived in doing Custom Design projects, I realized that some of my clients could benefit from a much faster design process. I was now experienced enough to streamline my process and condense it into one day. I started offering (and fell in love with) VIP Days!

The Women Empowerment Era

This one really took shape over the last 5 years. I’ve made a conscious decision to work primarily with women entrepreneurs. I absolutely LOVE supporting other women in business, and wouldn’t have it any other way.

The ‘I’m a Badass Entrepreneur’ Era

After 15 years of being in this industry- I now have the knowledge, experience, skills, and support to feel 100% confident about what I do, what I offer, and the designs I can deliver. No more selling myself short!
