Smart website design advice to help your site bring in leads while you soak up the sun!

Summer is here, and if you’re anything like me, you’re dreaming about beach days, backyard BBQs, and soaking in all the golden-hour goodness. But while you might be taking it slow, your website doesn’t have to!
In fact, your website can keep working behind the scenes—bringing in inquiries, building trust, and showing off your magic—while you're lounging poolside with a popsicle or piña colada (my fave!) 😎.
Whether you're planning a full vacation or just looking to simplify your workdays, today I’m sharing some summery website design advice to make sure your site is doing its job… even when you're OOO.
1. Make Your Contact Page a No-Brainer
Let’s be honest: if someone wants to book with you, don’t make them work for it! Your contact page should be just as intentional as the rest of your site. Think of it as the front porch to your business—warm, welcoming, and easy to find.
Quick things to check:
- Is the form working correctly? (it's crazy how many website forms are broken- double check!)
- Are you asking for only what you really need?
- Does the page include your response time and what happens next?
Summer tip: Add a little note like,
“Out of office from July 1–10, but I’ll respond as soon as I’m back!”
This sets expectations and shows you’ve got boundaries (I love that for you).

2. Refresh Your Messaging (Without Rewriting Everything)
Before you check out for the summer, give your website a quick glow-up. This doesn’t mean a full rebrand—just a thoughtful refresh.
Here’s what I recommend skimming:
- Your homepage hero headline
- The first paragraph on your About page
- Any testimonials or images that feel outdated
- Your primary call-to-action buttons
Sometimes, just replacing an old photo with a sunny new brand photo or rewriting one or two sentences makes your whole site feel more aligned.
Website design advice tip: You don’t need to start from scratch—just make sure the story your site is telling still matches who you are right now.
3. Schedule Some Strategic Blog Posts
Search engines don’t take summer vacation, friend!
Now’s a great time to batch a few blog posts that’ll keep your site fresh and SEO-friendly while you’re unplugged. (Plus, summer is a great time to test out educational content that nurtures your audience without being overly “salesy.”)
Ideas to try:
- A behind-the-scenes of your creative process
- A Q&A answering FAQs from clients
- A roundup of your favorite tools, resources, or templates
- Client wins or project spotlights
If you use Showit or WordPress, you can schedule them ahead of time. Then relax knowing your site is still active and valuable.
4. Automate the Follow-Up
One of the easiest ways to impress potential clients? Set up an automatic reply after someone fills out your contact form.
Here’s what to include:
- A warm thank you message (because manners matter)
- When they can expect to hear back from you
- A link to a free resource or blog post while they wait
This tiny detail can make a huge difference in how you’re perceived—and it works for you 24/7.
How do you do this, you ask? You'll need to have a 3rd party service (I use Dubsado) to create a workflow that connects to your contact form.
Bonus idea: Include a “Meet Me” link to your About page or a quick welcome video. It helps turn cold leads into warm ones while you’re off enjoying the sunshine.
5. Promote Your Website (Then Log Off!)
You don’t need to hustle through summer to stay visible. A few small promotions can drive traffic and keep your audience engaged without you being glued to your laptop.
Quick wins you can do in under 30 minutes:
- Share a before/after of your website or a recent project
- Add your most popular service or template to your Instagram bio link
- Use a carousel post to highlight testimonials and link back to your site
- Update your Pinterest boards with your latest blog posts or freebies
Your website is the one part of your business that doesn’t need sunscreen or PTO—so let it shine ✨
