Flodesk email template design example – highlighting the value of Flodesk pricing for small businesses

Everything you need to know about Flodesk pricing, plans, features, and whether it’s worth it for your businessIf you're searching for Flodesk pricing, you're probably trying to answer one simple question: How much is Flodesk actually going to cost me?

And if you've read older Flodesk reviews, you may be even more confused.

Flodesk changed its pricing model in December 2025. The old flat-rate, unlimited-subscriber pricing is no longer available to new customers. Today, Flodesk uses a subscriber-based pricing model with Free, Lite, Pro, and Everything plans.

So, as someone who has used Flodesk after switching from both Mailchimp and ConvertKit, I'm breaking down the current Flodesk pricing, what you actually get with each plan, how Flodesk compares to Mailchimp and ConvertKit, and whether I still think it's worth paying for.

Spoiler: I do.

What Is Flodesk?

Flodesk is an email marketing platform designed with creatives and small businesses in mind. It lets you grow your email list, create beautifully designed emails, build automated workflows, create forms and landing pages, and sell products through Flodesk Checkout.

Here are some of the things you can do with Flodesk:

  • Send beautifully designed newsletters
  • Create opt-in forms and landing pages
  • Build automated email workflows
  • Segment your audience
  • Track email analytics
  • Create sales pages and funnels
  • Sell digital products and services
  • Create checkout pages and subscriptions

And honestly, the design is a huge part of why I originally chose Flodesk.

As a designer, I care a lot about how my emails look. When I was using ConvertKit, I loved the functionality, but I never felt like my emails looked as polished or on-brand as I wanted them to.

Flodesk gave me the combination I was looking for: beautiful design + straightforward email marketing tools.

Flodesk Pricing: How Much Does Flodesk Cost?

Flodesk currently has four plans: Free, Lite, Pro, and Everything.

The important thing to know is that paid Flodesk pricing is now based on your active subscriber count. Your price increases as your list grows into the next subscriber tier. All paid plans include unlimited email sends, so you're not paying based on how many emails you send.

For up to 1,000 subscribers, the current starting prices are:

Flodesk PlanMonthlyAnnual BillingBest For
Free$0$0Building your list
Lite$25/mo$19/moBasic email marketing
Pro$28/mo$25/moAutomations + growing businesses
Everything$54/mo$49/moSelling products + advanced features

Annual pricing effectively gives you one month free compared with the standard monthly rate.

Flodesk Free Plan

The Free plan is designed primarily for building your audience.

You can create forms, landing pages, and a link-in-bio page without paying anything. However, the Free plan does not include email sending, so you'll need a paid plan or free trial when you're ready to actually send email campaigns.

Flodesk Lite

The Lite plan starts at $25/month, or $19/month when billed annually, for up to 1,000 subscribers.

It includes:

  • Unlimited email sends
  • Designer templates
  • Email analytics
  • Audience segmentation
  • Up to 25,000 subscribers
  • One team seat
  • One published workflow

If you're a small business owner who mainly needs newsletters and a simple automated welcome sequence, Lite may be all you need.

Flodesk Pro

The Pro plan starts at $28/month, or $25/month annually, for up to 1,000 subscribers.

This is the plan I'd recommend for many established service providers and creative businesses.

Pro includes everything in Lite, plus:

  • Unlimited workflows
  • Advanced analytics and reporting
  • The ability to hide the Flodesk footer
  • Two team seats
  • One integrated checkout

If you're using lead magnets, welcome sequences, sales funnels, or multiple automated workflows, Pro is probably the sweet spot.

Flodesk Everything

The Everything plan starts at $54/month, or $49/month annually, for up to 1,000 subscribers.

It includes everything in Pro, plus:

  • Unlimited integrated checkouts
  • Sales pages and funnels
  • Subscriptions
  • Payment plans
  • Abandoned cart automations
  • Three team seats

This plan makes the most sense if you're using Flodesk as more than an email marketing platform and actually want to sell products, courses, memberships, or services through it.

Flodesk Monthly vs. Annual Pricing

If you know you're going to use Flodesk for the long term, annual billing is worth considering.

For up to 1,000 subscribers:

  • Lite: $25/month monthly or $19/month annually
  • Pro: $28/month monthly or $25/month annually
  • Everything: $54/month monthly or $49/month annually

The annual option includes roughly one month free compared with paying the standard monthly price.

One thing to keep in mind is that Flodesk pricing now scales with your active subscriber count. So if your audience grows, your price can increase as you move into a higher subscriber tier.

This is a significant change from the old Flodesk pricing model.

If you've read an older blog post saying that Flodesk costs the same whether you have 100 subscribers or 100,000 subscribers, that information is outdated for new customers.

Flodesk vs. Mailchimp

I originally started my email marketing with Mailchimp.

At the time, it made sense. It was easy to get started, and there was a free option.

But as my email list grew, the pricing became less appealing. I also wanted more automation capabilities and a platform that felt more visually aligned with my brand.

Why I prefer Flodesk

For me, the biggest differences are:

Design: Flodesk emails are much more visually appealing out of the box.

Branding: I can create emails that feel like an extension of my brand instead of something that looks like a generic email newsletter.

Ease of use: Flodesk feels simple without making me feel like I'm sacrificing important features.

Automations: I can create welcome sequences, lead magnet delivery, and other workflows without feeling overwhelmed.

Pricing: Flodesk now uses subscriber-based pricing too, so I wouldn't choose it solely because of the old “unlimited subscribers for one price” advantage. Instead, I choose it because the overall experience works better for me.

Flodesk vs. ConvertKit

ConvertKit, which is now known as Kit, is another popular option, particularly among creators.

And I actually liked a lot about ConvertKit.

It was powerful. It had strong automation capabilities. It was built for creators.

But I didn't love the design.

As someone who designs websites and cares deeply about visual branding, I wanted my email marketing to feel just as polished as my website.

That's where Flodesk won me over.

I'd choose Flodesk if:

  • You care a lot about design
  • You're a creative entrepreneur
  • You want beautiful email templates
  • You want an easy-to-use platform
  • You need automated email sequences
  • You sell digital products or services
  • You want your email marketing to feel on-brand

I'd consider ConvertKit/Kit if:

  • Your business is heavily creator-focused
  • Your priority is advanced creator-focused functionality
  • You don't care as much about visual email design
  • You need specific automation or monetization features that better fit Kit

For me personally, Flodesk is the better fit.

My Favorite Flodesk Features

After using Flodesk, these are the features I appreciate the most.

1. Beautiful Email Templates

This is still my number one reason for loving Flodesk.

As a designer, I don't want to spend hours fighting with an email editor to make something look good.

Flodesk makes it easy to create polished emails without custom coding.

2. Easy-to-Use Interface

I don't want my email marketing platform to feel like another complicated piece of software I have to learn.

Flodesk is intuitive and relatively easy to navigate.

3. Beautiful Branding

You can add your logo, colors, and other brand details so your emails feel cohesive with the rest of your business.

And if you're not sure what your brand style should look like yet, I've got something that can help.

4. Automations & Workflows

Automations are one of the biggest reasons to use an email marketing platform instead of manually sending every email.

You can create welcome sequences, lead magnet delivery, launch sequences, and more.

5. Unlimited Email Sends

Even though pricing is now based on active subscribers, Flodesk doesn't charge you based on how many emails you send. Paid plans include unlimited email sends.

That makes budgeting much easier when you're sending regular newsletters or running an automated sequence.

Flodesk Cons: Because No Platform Is Perfect

Of course, Flodesk isn't perfect.

There are a few things I'd consider before making the switch.

Subscriber-based pricing

This is probably the biggest change for anyone considering Flodesk today.

The old unlimited pricing model is gone for new customers. Your price now increases as your active subscriber count grows.

Lite has limitations

If you want multiple workflows, more advanced analytics, or certain branding features, you'll likely want Pro rather than Lite.

E-commerce businesses may need more

If you're running a large, complex e-commerce operation, there are other platforms designed specifically around sophisticated e-commerce marketing.

For a service provider, creative entrepreneur, or small business, though, Flodesk has plenty of functionality for what most of us actually need.

Is Flodesk Worth It?

For me, absolutely.

I've used Mailchimp. I've used ConvertKit. And I ultimately chose Flodesk because it gives me the combination of functionality and design that I want.

I especially love it for a creative business because my email marketing actually looks like my brand.

That matters to me.

And while Flodesk's pricing has changed, I still think the platform is worth considering if you want a simple, beautiful email marketing system without needing to become an email marketing expert.

If you're just starting, the Free plan is a great way to explore the platform. If you're ready to send emails, Lite gives you the basics, while Pro is the plan I'd look at most closely if you're building automated funnels and lead magnets.
