The Flodesk pricing model (and why it’s the best deal for growing your email list)
When I first started my business, I jumped into email marketing with Mailchimp because it was free and beginner-friendly. As my list grew into the thousands, the price rose quickly. Wanting more automations and features with a lower price tag, I decided to move to ConvertKit. It was powerful, but I never truly loved the way my emails looked. They always felt plain, and I wanted something more polished and on-brand.
That’s when I discovered Flodesk, and I’ve never looked back. It’s the perfect balance of beautiful design, simplicity, and affordable pricing—and today I’m sharing my full review so you can decide if it’s right for you.
What is Flodesk?
Flodesk is an email marketing platform designed with creatives in mind. It helps you grow your list, design gorgeous emails, and even sell digital products (with their Checkout feature).
Here’s what you can do with Flodesk:
- Send beautiful newsletters with drag-and-drop templates
- Build automated workflows (like welcome sequences or launch funnels)
- Create opt-in forms, landing pages, and pop-ups
- Tag and segment your audience based on interests
- Track analytics and engagement
- Sell products directly with Flodesk Checkout
If you want to compare Flodesk with other popular providers, EmailToolTester has a great breakdown of features. But what really sets Flodesk apart is that it was founded by two women who wanted to create a tool that combined functionality with beauty. And honestly, they nailed it.
Flodesk Pricing (2025)
Now let’s get into the part you’re probably most curious about—Flodesk pricing.
Flodesk keeps things refreshingly simple compared to other platforms:
✨ Free Plan – Great for testing things out, building forms, and checking out the interface before you commit.
✨ Email Plan – $38/month (or $35/month if paid annually). Includes unlimited subscribers, unlimited emails, automations, forms, and landing pages.
✨ Email + Checkout Plan – $64/month (or $59/month if paid annually). Includes everything in the Email plan plus checkout pages to sell digital products directly through Flodesk.
The best part? Pricing doesn’t change based on the size of your list! This was my biggest gripe with other services. Whether you have 100 subscribers or 100,000, you’ll always pay the same. That’s a huge difference from Mailchimp and ConvertKit, where costs keep climbing as your list grows.

Flodesk Monthly vs. Annual Pricing
If you’re budgeting, here’s the breakdown for the Email Plan (the one I use and recommend):
- Monthly: $38 x 12 = $456/year
- Annually: $35 x 12 = $420/year
If you choose annual billing, you’ll save about $36 over the year, which is basically one free month.
Mailchimp’s pricing page shows just how quickly things can add up with subscriber-based pricing—one of the reasons I left. With Flodesk, growth doesn’t come with a bigger bill.
Why I Chose Flodesk Over Mailchimp & ConvertKit
- Mailchimp was fine for starting out, but as soon as I needed automations, the price jumped and the interface felt clunky.
- ConvertKit had strong features, but the design always felt lacking to me. My emails didn’t reflect my brand as much as I wanted.
- Flodesk combines both: professional features and stunning, on-brand templates that are easy to use. Plus, the flat pricing model keeps it affordable as my list grows.
My Favorite Flodesk Features
Here’s what I personally love most about Flodesk:
- Beautiful Templates – As a designer, I care about visuals, and Flodesk makes it easy to create polished, on-brand emails without custom coding.
- User-Friendly Interface – It’s simple, intuitive, and not overwhelming like some other platforms.
- Unlimited Subscribers – No stress about my bill going up as my audience grows.
- Automations & Workflows – Setting up welcome sequences, freebies, and product launches is super easy.
- Consistent Branding – I can upload my brand fonts, colors, and logo so every email feels like me.
- BONUS– Flodesk was created by two women!
Flodesk Cons (Because No Platform is Perfect)
To be totally honest, Flodesk does have a few limitations:
- Limited A/B Testing – If you love testing subject lines, you’ll have to do it manually.
- Not the Best for E-commerce – If you run a large product-based business, a platform like Klaviyo might be more powerful.
- Design Flexibility – While the templates are beautiful, you can’t customize everything down to the pixel like in code-heavy platforms.
For me, though, these “cons” don’t outweigh the pros.
Is Flodesk Worth It?
Absolutely. For $38/month, I get unlimited subscribers, beautiful templates, and an easy-to-use platform that makes email marketing feel fun again. Compared to Mailchimp and ConvertKit, it’s more affordable long-term and gives me the design flexibility I was missing.
